Tranquil Hanoi

Deemed a rising star in Southeast Asia, Hanoi has much to offer the outsiders. The land largely unspoiled by modern development, the capital city of Vietnam presents a fascinating mix of East and West, further enriched by Chinese and French influences, which have created the vibrant Vietnamese culture.

November is almost a perfect time to visit Hanoi, the winter has just arrived bringing along an ideal weather before the cruel cold crept in. We chose to stay at the Old Quarter, near Hoan Kiem Lake, a thriving, chaotic tangle of streets dating to the 13th century. Each street was originally home to merchants specializing in a particular trade, such as jewelry, silver, baskets, and silks, and the street names today reflect

these industries, even if the same products are no longer offered there. The Old Quarter is most enjoyable when you put away your map and simply wander the maze of lanes, soaking up the cultural essence of Hanoi. I’ve tried it and lost my way back to the hotel.

All the streets are busy and chaotic! The local ride motorbikes and traveler ride trishaws Even though the use of auto is growing in Hanoi; many prefer to get around on two wheels.

After so many years of practice, Vietnamese have mastered the art of crossing the chaotic roads with an impressive degree of calmness, which to a traveler like me is a matter of life and death.

Hoan Kiem Lake which means "Lake of the Returned Sword" or "Lake of the Restored Sword", also known as Hồ Gươm - Sword Lake, located at the historical center of Hanoi, this is one of the major scenic spots in the city and serves as a focal point for its public life.

As romantic and indulging Hanoi could get, business was our number one priority during this visit. VietSecurity 2008, organized by AMB Expo Sdn Bhd., was the first international security tradeshow staged in this land of Ho Chi Minh.

To us simplicity is the essence of beauty, and straightforward task makes life easy.  It took less than half an hour for the decoration, and we meant it when we say FingerTec makes thing easy.

Language was a big hurdle for us here. A lot of Vietnamese thought that we were locals and initiated conversations in

Vietnamese. Nonetheless, language was not a big of a hurdle, which could stop for us from achieving our goal.

At the end of the day, FingerTec shook hands with Silver Sea, acknowledging the later as FingerTec® authorized exclusive distributor for Vietnam. With the experience they have in the Vietnam market and the user-friendliness of FingerTec products, we are convinced we could pursue Vietnam in 2009 onwards.

The day after the exhibition, work aside and it was time for scenic area/sight seeing. We traveled to Ha Long Bay for the scenes worth seeing.

Even though we can’t speak Vietnamese but our software – TCMS V2 could. Vietnam is a huge market for us and we are looking forward to level up the fame of FingerTec in the Vietnam market with the help of our partner, Silver Sea.
