TimeTec is Awarded CMMI for Development,
Maturity Level 3 Rating

CMMI stands for Capability Maturity Model Integration that helps companies improve their operational performance by lowering the cost of production, delivery and sourcing. In short, CMMI is a model for building process improvement systems from which organizations will abstract and create process improvement solutions that fit their unique environment to help them improve operational performance.

CMMI consists of 5 Maturity level and in January 2016, TimeTec Computing has passed CMMI for Development, Maturity Level 3 Rating.

To gain Maturity Level 3, an organization must have people who are experts in 3 processes. Process management, technical & operational work of delivery (development or services, etc.), plus organizational change and development. While projects often don't provide useful performance data until near the end of the work, these new experts would help the organization's leaders understand how well the organization is performing from the inside even while projects are in the middle of execution. Maturity Level 3 organizations use data and metrics to help understand their internal costs and effectiveness.

TimeTec Computing worked with consultants from MFQ Asia; the on-site appraisal sessions SCAMPI A were conducted from 11 January until 15 January 2016. The whole audit process was led by the lead appraisal Ms. Thanaletchumi Thangavelu (TC Thana) along with the other 4 ATM members.

“The entire process of streamlining the processes and implementation at TimeTec Computing has started one year back. Implementation of CMMI is aimed to define the entire software development process for the company and to ensure the R&D department adapts and practices the processes in our daily operations. The CMMI also has improved the standard and quality of all our current and future deliverables within the software development cycle, which consists of all our TimeTec Cloud solutions development as well as Ingress software development", said Mr Daryl Choo, the Chief Technology Officer who is also the Head of SEPG and Project Director for CMMI Project.

The entire CMMI process starts from gathering of user requirement, designing, coding and testing of the solutions. It is an organization wide involvement by the top management as well as HR department for the staff skillset and training processes.

Ms. Thanaletchumi Thangavelu (TC Thana) is a Senior Management Consultant, specializing in ISO 9000 quality systems, QCC, TQM, and CMMI. She has 16+ years in training and course development in the area of Quality initiatives. With a diverse background focused on designing staff development and quality assurance programs, her experiences have contributed to client organizations’ achieving breakthrough strategies by implementing processes that are critical to Quality. The expertise encompasses implementation of operational strategies and procedures to provide continual process improvements, support change management and training to enhance the strategies.

The certification for CMMI Maturity Level 3 Development was handed over to TimeTec Computing Sdn Bhd on the 15th of January 2016.
