SINGER is an established brand for consumer durables ranging from flat panel television, refrigerator, washers, furniture, motorcycles, wellness products and digital products to Malaysia consumers. The brand is best known for its sewing machines dating back to 142 years ago. The headquarters of SINGER is located in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia, where both the manufacturing and marketing take place under the same roof.
When the pandemic hits the shore, all industries, especially manufacturing, put their guards up to protect their employees and their operation simultaneously. A positive case on one employee could be costly to the business, as expensive sanitization work, and a long period of quarantine needs to be observed.
Refused to take any chances, SINGER worked with GenX Technology (M) Sdn Bhd, FingerTec’s seasoned reseller to install six units of SmartAC1, face recognition machine complete with body temperature scanning and mask-wearing verification, at their premises as the first line of defence in replacement of the old card system.
The machines are installed near entrances for dual purpose, time attendance and door access security. All the doors will not open for employees who read a feverish body temperature or those who are not wearing masks. Details of each scan will be stored in Ingress software for reference.
