FingerTec in Maldives Gets Active |

Tasmil Pvt Ltd, FingerTec’s representative in Maldives, is still considered as a new reseller of the brand, having started its business relationship with FingerTec only several months ago. In an effort to pick up the brand awareness and sales in the Maldives, Tasmil Pvt. Ltd. recently participated in the Alia MACI Build Expo 2011 exhibition. |

Around 1600 registered international visitors from a variety of businesses and industries in addition to the same or a greater number of unregistered visitors attended the exhibition. The exhibition had 5 launch events and 3 information seminars over the span of the three days. The exhibition was marketed rather well for Maldivian standards as we had the highest national news coverage that has ever been received for the construction industry within a 5-day period. This included 6 articles in Haveeru daily and coverage on local TV channels throughout the duration of the exhibition. |

Having said that, FingerTec undoubtedly received great exposure in the exhibition here in Maldives. We had many visitors at our booth who showed a great deal of interest towards Fingertec products. Some of them recognized the brand beforehand, mentioning that it was a well heard of brand in the industry. For the exhibition, we chose to showcase the popular and top-selling FingerTec Product, the R2, at our booth for a demonstration. Quite a number of our booth visitors stepped up to try out the R2, and many were impressed at the functionality of it. |

The R2 may be the best selling product in the rest of the world, but here in Maldives, most of our inquiries and booth visitors were looking for something more economical to use at their workplaces. Being a country with less than half a million residents, most businesses in Maldives have only a small headcount. You could say 75% of the business and offices will have a staff number of below 20.
Due to this, most of our visitors inquired into FingerTec products with small number of the users, so we recommended the TA 300, AC900 or the newly launched economical H2i model. In the meantime, the larger private sectors in turn are requesting for models that have a sleeker and slimmer look. We foresee the m-Kadex and i-Kadex doing well in these areas of the target market.

Overall, the exhibition was a good chance for Tasmil Pvt. Ltd. to showcase our business locally and internationally, and also an eye-opener for us on which models we should be targeting in the local market. We hope that the business between Tasmil and FingerTec Worldwide will be able to grow in the future on this notion. |
