We have a new item that is included with all FingerTec Access Control models called a Diode. The Diode’s function is to allow electrical current to pass through it in one direction only, blocking the current from flowing in the opposite direction. Thus, the diode can be thought of as an electronic version of a check valve. This unidirectional behavior is called rectification, and is used to convert alternating current to direct current, and to extract modulation from radio signals in radio receivers. The Diode should be only used when the terminal installations is connect directly to a door lock system, without the mediation of the AdapTec AC or any other 3rd party controller, to prevent damage to the door lock system in a situation where the terminal malfunctions. A wiring diagram is provided below to illustrate the connection of a Diode to the door lock system.
*The Diode is available with the package when you purchase one of these models: R2, i-Kiosk 100, Kadex, Face ID 2, Q2i, AC900 and H2i. |
