1. How is the QR code being generated?
The Ingress software is integrated with a function that generates QR code based on the inserted card number. Basically, the Ingress software will generate a QR code after the Admin has inserted the card number. At the same time, the Ingress software can also generate a picture of the QR code for the Admin to send it via email to the users.
2. Can the QR Code be printed on a card?
QR Code is an image that can be printed on any type of paper. However, if you want to print it on a specific type of card, you will need to use the correct card printer to ensure robustness.
3. Can a user enroll with 3 types of credential at once in a system when they are using QR110?
A single user can be enrolled with QR code and one type of card only. A system cannot manage two card systems at once. Therefore, it’s very important for a company to decide of the type of card to use, either RFID or Mifare, at the initial stage of system deployment to avoid complication in the future.
4. Does QR110 require an Internet Connection to work?
No. The QR code is created by using numbers which is then stored inside the Ingressus controller. This process occurs under a local area network, thereby no Internet Connection is required for QR110 deployment.
5. Can QR110 be installed inside a wall instead of protruding on a wall?
Yes, since QR110 is roughly the same size as a wall socket. Installation of QR110 can be done within the housing wall and it will fit perfectly.
6. Is the QR110 powered by electricity or battery? If battery, how long can it last?
The QR110 is powered up by 12VDC power suitable for door access control readers, supplied by the Ingressus controller.
7. What happens when the power is down? Will the doors connected to QR110 automatically remain ajar?
No. The door is connected to Ingressus controller, which can be powered by backup battery in case of a power failure. Hence, the Ingressus controller will still work and keep the doors closed.
8. How many users can be added into the system?
The QR110 is not designed with memory, therefore all user counts are controlled by the Ingressus controller that has a maximum storage of 30,000 transaction logs.
9. How far is the scanning range for QR110?
To scan a QR code with QR110, the distance is between 3~4 cm in front of the camera section. Due to the QR code printing quality, we recommend that you scan the code in an upright manner to obtain better scanning result. As for scanning of an RFID/Mifare card at QR110, just wave the card at QR110 (within 3~4 cm) to verify.
10. Can the QR scanning process work under low light or bright light condition?
It should not be a problem to scan the QR code in a low light environment because the QR110 comes equipped with a LED backlight to improve visibility. However, bright condition on the other hand might affect the scanning process.
11. Does it record the entry times and the number of entries?
Yes. All entry and exit records are recorded into Ingressus controller. The admin will be using Ingress software to download the data from Ingressus for access records and reports.
12. Can I reuse the QR code that has already expired?
No. Each QR Code is paired with a valid access time (or Time Zone) that has been configured in Ingress software and stored within the Ingressus controller. The QR110 reader will then capture the ID from the QR code and sends it to the Ingressus controller for verification. If the QR Code has expired, it will not pass the verification stage.
13. Does QR110 loaded with have anti-passback feature?
The QR100 alone does not have anti-passback feature because it is a slave reader but since it’s connected to Ingressus controller, all access control rules i.e. anti-passback, interlocking and etc are controlled by the later.
14. If a random person got a hand of your card/QR code, could he/she use the card/QR code for the door access?
If the access time for that particular card/QR code is still valid, the random person could use it to gain access. To avoid this scenario, please report to the System Administrator whenever you lost your card/QR code in order for the administrator to erase it from Ingressus controller.
15. Do you recommend the use of QR110 for time and attendance solutions in offices?
No. QR code is an image and it can be shared easily amongst users especially through smartphones. Therefore, users might carry their friends’ QR codes in their smartphones and commit buddy-punching and impact the company negatively.
16. What are the other possible applications of QR110 apart from door access control for office?
It can be used as temporary access pass for contractor. It also can be used as one time visitor pass, where visitor does not need to return the card after he/she checks out.
17. If someone is planning to visit me, should the management issue a card or recommend the visitor to use a QR code instead?
This is up to the management’s preference. Issuing a card to a visitor is the most common application. However, managing a bunch of lost or spoilt cards could be a major headache for the management. Meanwhile, issuing a QR Code is easy and economical.
18. Could the admin temporarily disable a person’s access due to certain reasons, i.e. the user is on vacation for a week?
Answer: Yes. Admin can use the Ingress software to control a person access level during certain time period. Therefore during that said time period, the person cannot gain access even though the QR code is valid.

20. Can I use QR110 with 3rd party access controllers?
Yes, FingerTec QR110 reader can work with 3rd party access controllers via Wiegand 26-bit connection. As long as the 3rd party controller comes with a 26-bit Wiegand input port, FingerTec QR 110 reader can output 26-bit Wiegand output to it.
21. What is the bit-format used for your Wiegand interface? Is it Wiegand 26/34?
There are 2 models available for the QR code scanner. QR110 which caters for RFID cards is built with a 26-bit Wiegand communication. On the other hand, QR110MC (MiFare) is using 34-bit Wiegand signal to communicate with the master readers.
22. Is Ingress software required to generate QR code and distribute it to the users?
Yes, you need to generate the QR code in FingerTec Ingress software and you can refer to this link for more information.

23. What are the Ethernet Port and USB Port used for?

24. Can the QR110 reader scan QR code and scan RFID at the same time?
You can't verify both QR cide and RFID card at the same time. You can only verify either RFID card or QR code at one time.
25. Does QR110 support interface for RS232/TCPIP?
No, it can only support wiegand connection
26. Does the QR110 reader come with inbuilt memory?
QR110 is a slave reader and it does not store any data, it needs to be paired with FingerTec devices such as Q2i, R3, R2, Face ID 3, Kadex, m-Kadex, Ingressus I/II/IV or 3rd party access controllers via Wiegand 26-bit connection.
27. Can both the QR110 and the R2c slave devices be used at the same time with FingerTec R2?
Yes, you can connect both QR reader (Wiegand) and R2c (RS485) to R2 at the same time. R2c connect to R2 via RS485 whereas QR110 connect to R2 via Wiegand
28. Is there any proprietary formatting or encryption on the QR codes generated by the Ingress software? Does Ingress software encodes the QR code in a proprietary format or open format (i.e. readable by standard QR code software)?
