Connecting Doors with
Ingressus Controllers
One, two, four or more?

Every building or office will have different number of doors, and access control can be a tricky thing when it comes to those with so many entrances or exits. Building an access control system requires the right hardware, software, power supply, connection method, and all the other basic needs of a security system infrastructure. Keeping cost and function in mind is also an important step.

FingerTec devices such as R2c, OFIS-y, i-Kadex, and k-Kadex are slave readers that usually accompany master terminals such as R2 and Kadex. Ingressus controller focuses primarily in connecting slave readers and acts as a hub for data storage and management of the slave readers. This would be a suitable option for companies who seek a lower cost security system, as they won’t have to connect master terminals but only slave readers instead. But the Ingressus has another desirable function.

Imagine having four entrances to your office, with a number of master terminals and slave readers at each door. While such installations would give you control of each door itself, wouldn’t it be better if you could control all doors at the same time?

Designed to create a centralize access control system, the controller comes in 3 versions, Ingressus I (1-door version), Ingressus II (2-door version), and Ingressus IV (4-door version).

Ingressus controllers must be used with the Ingress software to manage terminal transaction data. With Ingress you can manage each door’s setting separately, but if you connect the doors to the Ingressus controller, you will be able to apply the settings directly to the controller and the doors will behave accordingly.

For example, your company’s office has four doors for enter-exit purposes. In case there is a fire, you would want to simultaneously unlock all doors. Now, without a controller, you would have to unlock each door one at a time. That wouldn’t be practical in times of emergencies, would it? Here is where Ingressus comes to save the day. Doors connected to Ingressus controller will now behave as if they are one door. Your Ingressus device will have its own tab in Ingress where all the configurations can be made.

The Ingressus controller saves cost for companies with a low budget. Aside from economic reasons, centralising control for multiple doors is an important feature for access control that Ingressus offers. Companies with more than four doors would need to use more than one Ingress IV. But for such a cost-effective and reliable system, FingerTec’s Ingressus controller is one you should get.
