The Keylock 8800 is a simple access control and time attendance device with a mechanical door lock design. The device was designed to be placed on a door of a restricted area, as it has a stainless steel bar latch that functions as a door knob, while making it suitable as an access control tool. For those of you who have purchased the Keylock 8800, you might find that installation of the device into the door might be a little tricky. Hence, this article hopes to act as a guide to installation and tips & tricks.

Installation of the Keylock 8800 should take place on a wooden single-leafed door or a wooden double leafed door where one of door leafs are permanently shut. Firstly, to install the Keylock 8800, there should be some pre-made holes and openings available in the door. These holes and openings are for the purpose of installation, and it’s highly recommended to request your door supplier to pre-make these holes before delivering it to your company, as they would usually have the necessary equipment needed to do so. To make sure that your door supplier makes the precise holes and openings for your door, we have provided a template of the openings needed. This actual-sized template comes with every purchase of the Keylock 8800.

Once the doors are delivered with the necessary openings, you’ll need to insert the components into the openings using the following guide. It is strongly advised that you follow the order of steps from step 1 to step 26 to be able to install the Keylock 8800 effectively.

When installing the Keylock 8800, please take note of the following IMPORTANT pointers:

Note 1: For the mortise piece, make sure the dot on the circular piece is positioned at the top (as illustrated in the Installation Guide). If the dot is not positioned at the top, the Keylock 8800 will fail to work after installation.

Note 2: Make sure that the gap between the door frame and the door leaf is not more than 4mm wide to make sure the Keylock 8800 functions properly.

Note 3: The Keylock 8800 is meant for a push-to-open type of door. If your door is a pull-to-open type of door, you may have to change the mortise piece, depending on which side you wish to attach your Keylock 8800.

Note 5: Make sure the thickness of your door is not less than 35mm for the Keylock 8800 to be installed and to function properly.
