MMC Pembetungan Langat Implements FingerTec Access Duos for Workforce Management & Security
MMC Pembetungan Langat Sdn. Bhd. has been awarded by the Malaysian Government to implement Langat Sewerage project. Langat Sewerage Project is one of the “Sewerage Non River” projects under the vision of the government for a greater city. The main purpose is to rationalize 232 small and inefficient multi point sewerage treatment plants into one centralized plant reducing pollution discharge into Langat River. This Project is part of the national aspiration for urban modernization and the organization is proud to deliver the project because the society will enjoy better sewerage system and environmental quality upon completion.

Shortly after commencing the project, MMC Pembetungan Langat consulted GenX Technology, FingerTec’s reseller in Cheras Kuala Lumpur, for a better and affordable security and workforce management solution. Being FingerTec’s reseller for since 2014, GenX suggested FingerTec bestsellers, R2 and R2c and Kadex & k-Kadex duos. With the R2 and R2c system installed, entries and exits are controlled by fingerprint verifications, providing the company with ample benefits. One, only authorized individuals are allowed access to the company’s areas and second, all staff’s movements are recorded and reflected into attendance data that conforms with the company’s workforce policy. Kadex & k-Kadex card system installations are implemented inside MMC’s premises to control access into restricted areas.

Having more than 200 employees, shifting from a manual to an automated time attendance recording method helped MMC Pembetungan Langat with an open-ended expenditure reduction by scaling down human-generated payroll blunders, defeat time theft and overtime costs, as well as savings on miscellaneous cash outflows. As for the employees, it was a clear-cut attendance verification system. All they have to do is to scan their fingerprint each time they report to work, during break hours and when they complete their work time. There were absolutely no rooms, for dishonest practices such as buddy punching or other forms of identity theft since attendance is recorded from one’s fingerprint and can hardly be fiddled with. All data gathered by the system is centralized into the bundled Windows-based management software, Ingress.

GenX is pleased that FingerTec’s biometrics system can cater to the requirements of companies like MMC Pembentungan Langat and this is a great case study to extend biometrics implementation into similar sectors.
