The Ivorian Electricity Company (CIE) is a private operator responsible for the supply of electricity in Côte d'Ivoire since 1990. CIE is trusted with the operation of generation facilities, transmission and distribution, marketing, import and export of electricity throughout the country and in the sub regions. Jointly owned by EDF and SAUR, the company has been trading with the Volta River Authority (Ghana) since February 1984 and exports electricity to Ghana, Togo and Benin. CIE’s current priority is to enhance its transmission infrastructure to connect to West Africa's grid under the auspices of the West African Power Pool.
Security issue is one thing that this mega electricity tycoon prioritizes and recently they took suggestion from La Société World Technology Service S.A.R.L. (WTS) to deploy with FingerTec door access solutions to tighten security by only allowing authorized entries and exits to their premises. The company was concerned about certain privacy areas within the building that need access restrictions even to some of their employees, and by having the flexibility to use either the card, password or fingerprint verification method, CIE can tackle the security issues better.
For an easier and automated data management, FingerTec solution comes complimentary with its bundled solution, Ingress Software. Ingress is loaded with useful features for door access control including real-time access monitoring, database administration and report management to provide the management with the security and data they require.
