Face ID 2 & Face ID 4

Good news for our spectacle-wearing users! Face ID 2 and Face ID 4 will receive a firmware update that increases its user-friendliness by enabling up to two face templates to be assigned to a single user. This is easily explained in these steps:

1. At the end of successful enrollments, the system will ask the enrolled user if he/she wears spectacles.

2. If the user does not wear them, the system will proceed to save the enrolled face template.

3. If the user does wear them, the system will prompt the user to remove her/his spectacles to capture another face template.

4. Voila! Spectacle-wearing users will now have two face templates assigned to them, with and without their spectacles, to increase their verification success rate.

A similar update will be released for Face ID 3 in the near future. Remember to keep yourself updated with FingerTec Worldwide to find out more.

TA100C & AC100C

For a cleaner and neater installation, new adjustments and enhancements were made to the design of TA100C and AC100C that minimizes the visibility of exposed wires on top of minor changes to its MCU. The changes include:

1. The female jacks for power and network are moved from the top of the devices to its bottom.

2. The mini USB connector is replaced with a normal USB port and moved to the left side of the devices.

3. The RS232 and RS485 connectors are removed from the devices and become an optional add-on.

4. The MCU has been upgraded to accommodate the additional connectors, as well as the repositioning and removal of others.
The Old and New MCU Boards

Please note that the update also applies to similar devices in the TA100C and AC100C family, including TA100CR, TA100TC, TA100TCR and TimeLine 100.

AC900 & R2c

The R2c slave reader is an economical solution that can fit many situations without compromising performance. Effective immediately, R2c can now be paired with AC900 to give customers even more choices with their solution. However, please remember that:

1. When purchasing a new AC900 device, notify the sales person that the device is to be paired with R2c.

2. For existing AC900 users, the device can only be paired with R2c if its core board is version FEM565.
