FingerTec Collaborates with Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman in Areas of Research and Development
In May 2015, TimeTec Computing Sdn Bhd has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), a private university in Malaysia to jointly collaborate in various areas involving researches and exchange of students and experiences between the organizations. The Memorandum of Understanding is agreed upon for a period of three years starting 2015.

As a manufacturer and a brand owner of an internationally renowned biometrics brand, FingerTec and various software solutions such as TimeTec, Ingress and Ingress Visitor Management System (IngressVMS), research and development is integral in sustaining the relevance of the brand and its solutions in the worldwide market. The company’s R&D Center in iTech Tower, Cyberjaya Selangor currently house around 30 software engineers, programmers, testers and interns in our effort to offer our global clients with current technologies and solutions.

UTAR was established 13 years ago by a not-for-profit organization, the UTAR Education Foundation, with a vision to be a premier University for the advancement and dissemination of knowledge and expertise while emphasising on the holistic development of individuals for nation building. Since then, UTAR has made impressive strides in establishing a strong reputation as a comprehensive University with dedication to achieving excellence in teaching and research.

 
The synergy between the organizations had initiated the signing of this MoU which states that UTAR and TimeTec Computing will collaborate in sharing of expertise in research development including participation of staff/students in seminars, conferences and workshops that are relevant to the industry. There will also be participation from both parties in industrial study visits to enhance learning experience, professional development and curriculum development; facilitate industrial placement of UTAR students and academic innovation by cooperating in developing new teaching and learning technologies relevant to the industry and last but not least is for TimeTec Computing to provide scholarships for UTAR students who are enrolling in programs under the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology.
 
The CEO/MD of Timetec Computing Sdn Bhd, Mr Teh Hon Seng has always placed priority in research and development because he believes that only through learning and constant improvement we can face the future with confidence. FingerTec is one of the premier companies that introduced biometrics technology for time attendance and door access system to the world in the year 2000 and now we are also one of the first companies that offer Cloud services for the industry because Cloud will be the demand of the future.

Mr Teh Hon Seng is confident that this MoU will bring about a lot of mutual advantages to TimeTec Computing and UTAR in the long run. “When two organizations come together with a common goal to be excellent in what we do best, nothing can go wrong,” he stressed.
