With the GPRS function in a device, FingerTec terminals can be easily linked up to the TCMS V2, TimeTec or Webster from afar, without having to be connected in the same network. GPRS allows data to be uploaded from the terminals to the software remotely, and vice versa.
However, a few pointers should be taken note of when using the GPRS-enabled terminal. Firstly, before implementing the GPRS system on a large scale, it may be wise to purchase one terminal initially and test out your service provider’s GPRS speed on it. Only implement a wide-scale GPRS system if you are satisfied with the speed allocated to you by your service provider. Second, when using the GPRS terminals, ensure that you have set the correct settings in the terminal given by your service provider. Only then will your GPRS connection work smoothly.
