Recently, FingerTec reseller in South Africa, Telkare, took FingerTec to another task by providing a funeral home with a system to manage the dead. Telkare works with Shalom Alijac Funeral Services/Funeral located in Cape Town primarily and in two other locations Mossel Bay and George. Their funeral home offers burial and cremation services at affordable rates for individuals and their loved ones. They also offer funeral cover to individuals and their families and additional extended member covers that cover up-to 13 individuals at once.
Armed with their tagline “ We offer peace of mind” Shalom Alijac Funerals Services installed FigerTec R3 at their mortuary facilities with swing doors as well as sliding doors both types now automated when entering their mortuary. FingerTec R3 was installed to their open their swing doors with magnetic locks and sliding doors that is operated with a garage motor to open and close their mortuary facility. The automation was intended to provide more accurate records of when facilities were used, by who and for what. It also gives them a clear indication of when the deceased were received and when they are removed for viewing, burial and or cremation purposes. Staff members clock-in and clock-out when entering the facility as well as assign an electronic card to each deceased. Similarly, they refer to receiving and removing a deceased to and from the facility, as “clocking-in”, and “clocking-out” of the deceased.
Shalom Alijac adopts Ingress for access control in terms of record-keeping and have reported that to this point they are happy with both FingerTec R3 and Ingress. Shalom Alijac Funeral Services have been operating for more than 25 years and cover the course of the last ten. They have become a Government Supplier for removing deceased from Hospital facilities as well as the burial and cremation of pauper & destitute.
