FingerTec has newly launched AdapTec-X, a simplified version of Adaptec Plus as an accessory to enhance security for access control systems. The only difference from its predecessor, AdapTec Plus, is that AdapTec-X is equipped with a secure I/O board without a power supply. |
Initially, FingerTec introduced Adaptec Plus to combine a secure I/O board with a reliable power supply for ease of installation with FingerTec access control models such as AC900, R2, Kadex and so on. After carefully examining feedback from a few installers, of which some are selling their own power supply, it was found that there exists a demand for not only the AdapTec Plus but also for a version of it that would not come with its own power supply. |
With that in mind, FingerTec has come up with the specially designed AdapTec-X to fulfill both markets, effectively fulfilling the needs for both those who would and would not like a power supply included. From now on, FingerTec resellers can start to order either AdapTec-X or AdapTec Plus together with any of FingerTec’s access control models in their next shipment. FingerTec provides 2 years warranty for end-users, and an extra 4 months to make it 28 months for resellers, for both AdapTec models. |

Note: How AdapTec Enhances Security |
To provide you enhanced security, AdapTec will only recognize encrypted Wiegand signals from FingerTec terminals in order to unlock its doors. The code of the encrypted signals is written into the firmware of FingerTec terminals, which cannot be duplicated into other devices. This prevents hackers from bypassing this by simply providing the relay signal to AdapTec. Furthermore, separate power outputs for the door lock system and FingerTec terminals will keep the door locked even during any failures (i.e.: vandalism to terminals, etc.). For added security, a siren output port is ready to be linked up to alarms or sirens to produce alert sounds in case of forced door openings. |
