The OFIS-Y is a fingerprint reader that is shaped similarly to a computer mouse, allowing it to be directly connected to a PC for several uses. It may act as a time attendance capturing station linked directly to a computer, an enrolling station for larger companies using FingerTec, which means that the user does not have to personally enroll at each FingerTec terminal, or it can also be customized with the Software Development Kit (SDK) for a variety of applications, such as online login using fingerprint instead of a username and password.
The OFIS-Y has several useful specs; firstly, the OFIS-Y can work on Windows 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems for Windows XP, Vista, and 7. Also, the fingerprint algorithm used to enroll and verify fingerprint is the latest powerful VX10.0, which makes it faster, more accurate, and compatible with almost all other FingerTec product.
Being a compact device, the OFIS-Y is affordable in price and durable in many aspects. Using a non-coated optical prism, the scanner on the OFIS-Y is highly resistant to scratches, ensuring lasting performance of the device. This simple plug-and-play device also comes with a hard case pouch for you to keep the device safely away when not in use.
This sleek-looking OFIS-Y will be launched and available for purchase in May 2012. In the meantime, check out the brochure and stay tuned to FingerTec for more details!
