The latch receiver is installed onto the door frame, as a receiver to the door latch when the door is in a closed position. You will find a protruded knob in the middle of your Keylock 8800 latch receiver (circled in red). If you put pressure on the knob, you will feel a spring effect on it. The Keylock 8800 door latch also has a similar protruded knob on it(circled in red).

So, how does it work? This latch receiver knob would hit the Keylock door latch knob to trigger the locking mechanism of the latches, hence locking the door.

Always check the gap between your door leaf and doorframe before installing the Keylock 8800. The gap should measure less than 4 mm. If the gap is more than 4mm, your Keylock 8800 will not lock when you close the door. This is because the knobs discussed above will not touch each other with a gap larger than 4mm, resulting in an unlocked door.

The default latch receiver supports a gap of up to 4mm only. If the gap is more than 4mm, swap the latch receiver for another one which can support gap up to 8mm.
