Welfare Electronic Components Ltd - Bringing FingerTec® to Hong Kong’s retail sector

FingerTec Worldwide Ltd has been working with Welfare Electronic Components Ltd (WECL) since 2005 to resale FingerTec fingerprint products in the best business hub in Asia, Hong Kong. WECL is a renowned electronics and electrical mega store in Hong Kong located at the busiest electronic component street in Shamn Shui Po. WECL focuses on retail sector as well as providing total security solutions, which include door access system and CCTV surveillance system.

In the past years, WECL did not only sell FingerTec products, they had also carried different brands of fingerprint products for door access systems. In 2007, due to an increasing demand for FingerTec Door Access and Time Attendance System from the market and to maintain its market competitiveness, WECL decided to acquire the retail distributorship from FingerTec Worldwide Ltd. Starting May 2007, WECL has been appointed as a distributor of FingerTec in the retail sector in Hong Kong.

When they first started with FingerTec, they were using catalogue to serve walk-in customers and later on they used live demonstrations display for end-users to experience FingerTec products first hand. The positive response received from the customers prompted FingerTec Worldwide to sponsor a bigger display on the prime spot at WECL’s retail store.

According to the President of WECL, Herric Wong, “WECL would dedicate an additional window cupboard to display FingerTec products portfolio to serve clients who are looking for fingerprint solutions. With clear and concise information that FingerTec is providing, clients will have better ideas on fingerprint products they require and therefore, the decision making process could be shortened”. The decision was made based on the market trend that is prone towards fingerprint system when it comes to time attendance and door access systems. WECL is also in the position to bring FingerTec products to the reputable engineering companies in Hong Kong.

WECL staff that handle FingerTec products are well trained in both hardware and software issues and clients will be attended well with sufficient information about FingerTec products.

WECL has successfully created market awareness about FingerTec in Hong Kong and they have done it in the true Hong Kong way, flashy yet outstanding!
