Tracks Attendance with FingerTec Q2i

Maldives Ministry of Education was established in 1968 with the priority to develop the nation’s population equipped with valuable occupational skills, knowledge and attitudes for the national development.

The ministry is made up of seven divisions comprises of corporate services, finance and development, planning and external relations, schools and many more. Under their care also is the internal audit and procurement unit as well as the Department of Higher Education and other education units.

Installed at all entrances, no stone is left unturned.

With its growing number of workforce, the Ministry was looking to automated its attendance system with biometrics authentication. On top of improving its attendance system, the biometrics system must also be able to cater to the basic security needs of all personnel.

Astech Maldives, FingerTec’s esteemed reseller in the region had proposed a deployment of 10 units Q2i and R2c to fulfill the Ministry’s requirements. The FingerTec Q2i is designed to track staff’s attendance and it also can be connected to door access elements for security purpose, making it the perfect solution for the ministry. R2c was chosen as an exit reader because the Ministry wanted a complete record of the staff’s in and out activities within their premises. Hence, nobody can go out of the premise undetected when the system can trace every access through biometrics. With the FingerTec system installed, the Ministry also is provided with a centralized data management system that provides honest data in real time through the complimentary software, Ingress.

Astech Maldives and the Ministry are pleased with the installation and hoped that the automation will provide an efficient system and translate to a better working environment for all staff involved.
