Scenario 1
When I click the “apply” button under the “manual download clocking data” window, the below error message prompt out.
Solution
Uncheck the “disable” checkbox at the group “0” in terminal group.
If the prompt still occurs, please delete the product and activation key and perform the terminal activation again.
 
Scenario 2
During the TCMS V2 installation process, the below error message appears.
Solution
Please make sure that you are using the administrator rights, to install the TCMS V2 software. In case the message still appears, kindly reinstall the software using the latest setup file. You can download the latest setup file at https://user.fingertec.com >Software update> I. TCMS V2.2 or https://tips.fingertec.com> Section E, Download, Software> I. TCMS V2.2.
 
Scenario 3
When double clicked the backup/restore database, the below error message appears.
Solution
Please close the entire menu in the TCMS V2, then double click on the backup/restore database icon again. If the message still appears, kindly provide us the TCMS V2 folder for us to troubleshoot.
 
Scenario 4
The message “Required ActiveX is not registered…,” (as shown below) appears when I run the TCMS V2.2 software. What could be causing it and what could I do to solve it?
An old copy of the software which has been installed in your system is causing this problem.
 
Solution
Step 1 Uninstall the TCMS V2.1.2 and TCMS V2.2 software to make sure that the system is free from any copy of TCMS V2.
Step 2 Delete the old TCMS V2 folder of TCMS V2.1.2 (old version).
Step 3 Install the TCMS V2.2 software again.
 
For Window Vista and Seven platform users:
Right click on the TCMS V2 icon and select “run as administrator” to open the TCMS V2 software.
 
Scenario 5
When I click on the “Online” button on the terminal data audit list, I get the below error message.
Solution
Click the “Export” button. Select a user ID and a date range. Change the output target file to your current PC and click the export button. After the process is complete, you will be able to click the “Online” button to download data from the terminal.
 
Scenario 6
We get the below error message when clicking on the terminal user control and user access codes.
Solution
Go to “Display Properties” and change the display appearance to “Normal” font.
 
Scenario 7
We get the below error message when selecting the excel file when importing users.
Solution
Check the Excel file format. You can refer to https://www.fingertec.com/newsletter/Sep2010/TIPS-01.html for more details on importing user information from XLS or TXT file.
 
Scenario 8
We installed the TCMS V2 in the window vista platform successfully. However we get the below error message when opening the TCMS V2 software.
Solution
Right click the TCMS V2 icon and select “Run as administrator” to open the TCMS V2 software through Window Vista or Seven platforms on the PC.
 
Scenario 9
When clicking the preview button to generate a report, the system displayed the following error message and proceeded to close the TCMS V2 software.
Solution
Install the printer driver on the PC that is installed with the TCMS V2.
 
Scenario 10
We get the following error message when clicking on the TCMS V2 menu icon.
Solution
Step 1 Close the TCMS V2 software.
Step 2 Delete all “CDX File” formats in the TCMS V2 folder.
Step 3 Run the TCMS V2 software.
Step 4 If the problem persists, please provide us the backup database or the TCMS V2 folder for us to troubleshoot.
 
Scenario 11
We can’t save changes after making changes in the config file.
Solution
Please add the group “Everyone” under the security option with full control permission.
 
Scenario 12
We shared the TCMS V2 folder with full permission. However when we tried to open the TCMS V2 on another PC, we received the below error message.
Solution
Please select “full control permission” for the group “everyone” group in the TCMS V2 folder. In case there is no such group, click edit>add>advanced>find now. Then select “everyone” and click the “ok” button.
 
Scenario 13
When I uncheck the “disable” check box, the below error message appears.
Solution
Check the connection between the terminal and PC. Follow the Steps below.
Step 1 Go to start button>run>cmd.
Step 2 Ping the terminal IP address e.g (ping 192.168.1.110).
Step 3 If there is no connection, check the terminal’s IP address.
Step 4 Step 4- If there is connection, make sure the ID, Comm. Key, Connection type and IP address information that was keyed into the TCMS V2 is exactly the same with the Device number, Comm. Key, Connection type and IP address you configured in the terminal (Press Option>Comm. Option>Dev Number/Comm. Key/Ethernet, RS232, RS485/IP address).
 
Scenario 14
We get the following error message when downloading the USB clocking data into the TCMS V2.
1. Make sure that you change the connection to “USB” when setting up the FingerTec terminal.
2. Make sure that you are using the correct product and activation key.
3. The ID configured in the TCMS V2 must be same with the Device number configured on the terminal (Press Menu>Option>Comm. option>Dev num to check).
4. If the error still occurs, please provide us the backup database and the pen drive file for us to perform troubleshooting.
