2009 is a bittersweet year for FingerTec. We launched TA100 DIY with a bang in Jakarta, Indonesia back in January to find out that the product receives a lukewarm response from the market it is intended for. It’s not all lost however when the Do-It-Yourself product garnered interest from the Middle East and the African countries. The TA100 DIY is a simplified version of TA100 series, and it comes standalone without any software. Once again we were present in the Intersec Dubai, an opportunity for us to meet our resellers in the Middle East and to find new opportunities.

In March, FingerTec family was in high note when the brand received Certificate of Excellence in the Industry Excellence Award under Ministry of International Trade and Industry Malaysia. This is the second consecutive year that FingerTec was nominated and awarded the certificate. In the same month, we held a four-day workshop in Dubai, UAE for our Dubai resellers, jointly organized with Seven Seas Computer.

TA100T and i-Kadex were introduced in April for the very first time, and the warranty period is lengthened from 12 to 24-month, to much delight from the resellers and end-customers. FingerTec also went to Dhaka to provide technical training to General Automation, our esteemed partner in Bangladesh. Later that month, Mr Teh Hon Seng flew to Geneva, Switzerland to accept the Century International Quality Era Award for PUC Founder (MSC) Berhad, FingerTec Worldwide’s holding company for its corporate achievement in recognition of outstanding commitment to quality and excellence in the realm of increase market share, improved results and sustainability. At the same time, FingerTec continues its travel around the world to market the brand. We stopped in Moscow for MIPS 2009, Taipei for Secutech Expo 2009 and Mexico for Expo Seguridad Mexico 2009.

Came June, the most awaited new version of TCMS V2 was released and it is rich with new features and improvements. FingerTec was showcased in IFSEC South Africa, Securex 2009 by our esteemed partner, Time & Speed and our HK office launched Q2i and R2i to all their channel partners.

In July, Ms Tew Bee Lay joined FingerTec as a Sales Manager. Her years of experience in the security field are assets to the company. Tamy and Regie flew to Miami for Fire and Security Expo 2009 to attend to visitors from North and South America.

In August we introduced our “Complete Package for Less” campaign in Malaysia market in conjunction with the Merdeka (Independence Day) celebration. The campaign received enormous response from the market. Biometrics Access of Australia featured FingerTec in Security 2009 held in Sydney and Batyr went to Kazakhstan for a Security show in this thriving country.

FTDP, FingerTec Data Processor, a clever option to obtain database without the need of SDK was released in September. Ms Bee Lay made her first visit to the South East Asian market, namely Cambodia and Thailand for meet and greet sessions with existing dealers and potential resellers.

In October, FingerTec initiates the promotion of TA100C, Time Attendance with color screen and multimedia features. The China Sourcing Fairs in Hong Kong was a success being the only Malaysian company in a sea of China companies and Compax Industrial System Pvt Ltd took care of IFSEC India 2009 in New Delhi, which received tremendous response from the visitors.

All in all, 2009 is a pretty balance year with plenty of challenges to overcome, a few achievements to celebrate and most of all abundance of high spirits to keep us moving forward to achieve excellence in 2010.
