| An effective way to discipline employees and students |
Normally when universities and colleges students attending their classes or employees attending their trainings, lecturers and training centres’ staff will require them to report their attendance for records. These attendances normally are recorded manually using pen and paper. Later on, the person-in- charge will type the information into the computer for reports and records for further analysis.
Using this conventional attendance system, ghost attendees are rampant. Fellow classmates can help to sign-in for their absent friends, workers can ask someone else to attend the trainings on their behalf. And most of all, parents and employers are not aware if their children or employees are absent from the class or training.
To overcome this problem, a convenient system is introduced, where students or trainees report their attendance via biometric system and parents/guardians and employers can receive SMS notification of attendance. |

| How It Is Done? |
| All students and employees would have to enroll their fingerprints into the system, and administrator fills in basic information along with the attendees’ parents/guardian or employer mobile phone number. All of the information will be stored in a database. During verification process, a scan of finger can record students and employees attendance easily and the SMS notification will be sent to parents/guardians and employer by the system. |

| OFIS Scanner as Enrolment Station |
The FingerTec develops the above system using OFIS scanner as an enrolment station and FingerTec terminal as a verification station.
The system administrator will enrol the students, employees, lecturers and trainers’ fingerprints by using the OFIS scanner from the Information Centre Database.
The Information Centre Database, developed with the FingerTec BioBridge SDK stores user fingerprints, basic information together with users’ parents/guardian or employer mobile phone number and attendance records.
From the Information Centre Database, system administrator will upload user fingerprints to the FingerTec terminal. |

| System administrator will also records the parents/guardian and employer mobile phone number for the SMS notification and e-mail addresses if the parents/guardian and employers refuse to use the SMS system. |

| 1. FingerTec Terminal as verification station |
|
| |
The lecturers and trainers will punch at the FingerTec terminal for their attendance records. The Administrator will collect the transactions from the Information Centre Database and export them to the HR/Payroll system for the payroll calculation and attendance.
The student and employee will punch at the FingerTec terminal for their attendance records. |

| 1. If the user came in on time, the SMS notification will be sent to their parents/guardian or employee |

| 2. If the user came in late for one hour, the SMS notification will be sent to their parents/guardian or employee. |

The system administrator will enrol the children parents/guardian (minimum two persons) fingerprints using the OFIS scanner from the Information Centre Database.
The Information Centre Database, developed with the FingerTec Bio Bridge SDK stores user fingerprints, basic information along with the users’ parents/guardian or employers mobile phone number and photo of the parents/guardian and their children. |

| The System |
| When the user wants to pick up their children, he/she will be required to punch at the OFIS scanner. The administrator will check the photo that appears in the system and the notification SMS will be sent to another parents. |
