On 27 May 2008, The Ministry of International Trade & Industry Malaysia organized The Industry Excellence Award at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur to give recognition to companies that have excelled in various fields including exports. The Export Excellence Award is given to a company in recognition for its commitment and efforts in penetrating the export markets as well as its excellent performance in this pursuit, and The Brand Excellence Award is a special recognition to companies that have invested in developing Malaysian brands and are committed to promoting the brand towards becoming an international brand. The Industry Excellence Awards were presented to all winners by Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Haji Abdul Razak, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia.
