KESEDAR’s Employees Gets to Face It!

KESEDAR, Lembaga Kemajuan Kelantan Selatan or known as South Kelantan Development Institute was established in 1978, with the objective to balance the population composition between South Kelantan and North Kelantan, to eradicate poverty and to redistribute community. Having more than 500 staff, Kesedar had to deal with its workforce problems, which include buddy-punching occurrences, frequent miss punch and the overall employees’ discipline problem caused by the inefficiency of the conventional punch card system. The inconsistency of staff’s attendance affects the effectiveness of the institute’s performance on the day-to-day basis.

Knowing that another government agency, KADA, Lembaga Kemajuan Pertanian Kemubu is using FingerTec system and they managed to solve their problems with the system, KESEDAR enquired similar system to manage their attendance from Binary Global Technology Sdn Bhd, one of FingerTec renowned resellers in Kelantan.

After consultation with Binary Global Technology, KESEDAR selected the latest biometrics technology, face recognition device in combination with fingerprint technology Face ID 2 to be installed at their premises. One unit was installed at the office of the Managing Director and 4 units were installed at the lobby for starters. They are solely using Face ID 2 for Time Attendance and these 5 units are their first trial batch to know whether this system helps before they proceed with more installations. If Face ID 2 matches their requirements, more installations will be extended to other branches in the future.

KESEDAR employees welcome this new system as it provides them with a new experience to deal with discipline and this hi-tech system also propels them as a corporation that is in trend with the latest technology. Initially, the customers struggled to upload and download the terminal ID because of some technical glitches but once the problems were handled, everybody is using it smoothly.

Binary Global Sdn Bhd is confident that Face ID 2 fits the requirements of KESEDAR and they hope that the system improves the attendance situation in the institute, and more units will be installed soon.
