Visiting Dubai was such a great experience as it is truly a cosmopolitan city. Throughout our whole stay there, I only met one person who originated from U.A.E. – a fact that would probably be unusual in every other city except Dubai.
Apart from meeting a real variety of people, we managed to experience few things in Dubai such as the Dessert Safari Tour. The Dune Bashing, which is basically rough driving on the sand dunes in the dessert with a 4-wheel drive really left us thrilled, adrenaline-pumped and wanting for more! It’s amazing how the vehicle can take such versatile turns without losing grip on the sand or overturning. Then there was the magnificent Burj Khalifa – a majestic sight no matter how near or far, day or night. The thought of it being twice as tall as the Petronas Twin Towers in Malaysia was incredible but at the same time believable. The aura of just standing before the building, accompanied by the beautifully synchronized water-fountain show is hard to put into words or capture in photographs. It left us speechlessly in awe. Though slightly on the pricey side, shopping and food in Dubai was also quite different as we get such different brands and a whole wider variety in the malls over there. Even the malls were built to be majestic, inside and out, reflecting the glam and prestige of the city.
From skyscrapers, to man-made islands, to 7-star hotels, and an indoor ski-park, Dubai is truly an over-the-top city which is constantly exceeding your expectations!
