Since its first release, Ingress was designed to work with MySQL database, which is known to be powerful, reliable and widely in use by many other systems. The downside of MySQL Database is that the configuration requires advanced IT know-how, which is scarce in SMEs without IT departments or personnel. |

| Acknowledging this challenge, our R&D had put in effort to link up Ingress software with Microsoft Office Access database. Basically, this method will execute the FingerTec Ingress software installation file to automatically install and generate the Microsoft Access database by itself. This is a one-kick-to-go process which poses no challenge to anybody. |

Without needing to install any additional components, Microsoft Access database can run by itself. The database file with the extension of .mdb will be automatically generated in Windows OS. For those with IT know-how, it is recommended to install the Microsoft Access database of Microsoft Jet Database Engine, to get the graphical user interface in order manipulate the data, or produce your own reports. |

The database file cannot grow more than 2GB. When it reaches its max storage, delay of data will appear in the software. Therefore, regular database housekeeping is crucial to avoid any interruption to the flow of data. |

There is only one MDB file to save all data (tables, queries, forms, reports, macros and modules), therefore, please make sure that it is secure from interruptions. The growing of the one-database-file size would slow down the performance of queries and reports too. |

It is not advisable to use this database for multiple user logins via server-client concept. This causes the MDB file to corrupt easily. Thus it is good to use as a single installation into one (1) single computer for one (1) person operation. However you still can assign different login authority to different users, for example system administrators, operators or HR personnel to login with different usernames and passwords into Ingress to do their jobs. |
