Dubai is a well-known location for high rise architecture and condominiums, being the home to the current tallest skyscraper in the world. Now, FingerTec’s reseller in Dubai, Q-Line Security Systems LLC, has implemented their system in one of the high-rise residential buildings in UAE, called Idigo and HDS Towers.

These are 42-storey residential towers situated in Jumeirah lake Towers complex. The management of the Indigo and HDS towers wanted a system to limit the access of the parking facility and other amenities only to residents. Since the basement parking had a direct connection to the other three residential towers, they wanted a system that could also control any unauthorized usage of the building amenities by an outsider or a resident of another tower.

It was definitely a challenge implementing the parking and amenity control system such as this one, since this was not just a simple time attendance or access control matter. This had more complexities and rules to follow, since the parking was at the mezzanine, ground floor and basement whereas the other amenities were located at the top of the building. Hence linking these two platforms and allowing full control of the system from a sole security room was again technically a challenging job.

Kadex U were proposed (and accepted) with an allowance of 2-3 RFID cards for each residential unit in the tower. The doors were redone to accommodate the drop bolt locks, and an alarm system was also attached to the central security room to alert the personnel during any unauthorized access or tampering of the system. Three Kadex units were installed at the parking levels, two units allocated for amenities and a single unit of the Kadex was also installed in the security room of each tower. After the successful implementation of the hardware and software monitoring and control system using the TCMS V2, the management exclaimed its satisfied with FingerTec’s performance and have also requested for such solutions to be repeated in few of their upcoming projects as well.
