Angola, or officially known as the Republic of Angola, is Africa’s 7th largest country located at the South side of the continent. The country most important economic resources include diamonds, oil, gold, copper, and a rich wildlife, forest, and fossils. Angola achieved its independence on 11 November 1975 from Portugal and after 14 years of armed struggle, the country achieved it’s full peace in April of 2002. Angola has a population of around 24 million as at 2014. Angolan Embassy in South Africa is located in Bruma, Gauteng in Johannesburg. Other than responsible to further develop and strength the existing bilateral relations between Angola and South Africa in terms of political relations, cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, culture, science and research, education and tourism, it’s Consular Section also provides services and assistance to Angolan citizens in South Africa as well as visa services for residents of South Africa, Lesotho, Mauritius and Madagascar on top of providing travel information, weddings and assistance to Angolan citizens in the process of issuing passports, birth certificates and death registrations, and many other important services. |
